"The original title of this song was actually,"It's hard to be somebody you can't love," but I thought I'd simplify it...
So yeah, thats a big point in the song. That it IS hard to be somebody you can't love. That not loving yourself affects every relationship you have in your life, weather we realize it or not. It changes us and morphs into someone we're not. It's not always black and white, wether someone likes who they are, but people who deal with it can see it. The song talks a lot of not being able to portray how they truly feel because of their lack of confidence. It's a real thing, man. Lemme just tell ya that now."- Trey
lyrics
A spark flies, but my heart aches,
I let you down, so down, my only soulmate
Now it feels like my heart doesn’t beat
Kick me while I’m down, and just watch me bleed?
Gut check, I don’t think I’m ready to go,
How can you tell, how do you know?
Oh, hard to be somebody you can’t love.
—————————————————————————————
I had this dream that we met last night,
And I started out right
Then I woke up and held my head,
Every single day, I’ll regret.
—————————————————————————————
Just when you think you know it all,
life hits you like a brick wall.
I can’t love her, but I know I tried
I really did my best but is that a lie?
Simple thoughts turn my mind around,
From the highest clouds to the lowest ground,
Oh, hard to be somebody you cant love,
Hard to be the one who’s judged
Hard to always tell the truth,
When I’m alone with you.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh, I’d call you if I thought it’d change your mind tonight.
And you’d call me if you thought I didn’t know you were right.
Oh I hate me too, I know you don't care, but
I Still Do
————————————————————————————
I always thought you’d just be there,
I waited too long, I guess this is fair.
When I see her, I’ll just say hi,
How do you tell someone that they were your life?
Oh Hard to be somebody you can’t love,
Hard to be the one who’s always judged.
