"The moral of the song is put into the last line of chorus,"If you call my name, I'll Never Know."

This song is about being underserving of someone. To the point that even if someone wanted you, you know whats best for them. I've found that people will never understand when someone is trying to protect and keep away from themselves. It's impossible to understand, but it's something you need to trust.

Looking at the chorus, putting into simpler words, is portraying how hard it can be to tell someone that they deserve better than you. Because in the end you'll miss em like crazy, but you know what they deserve, so 'If you call my name, I'll basically act like I didn't hear it.' What seems to be a requiem for love, is butchered by the last line of the chorus." - Trey
